Rape is reported in Costa Mesa
A rape was reported at Santa Ana Avenue and Knox Place in Costa Mesa at 9:15 p.m. Friday. Police had not finished the report on the incident by Saturday evening. Sgt. Bryan Glass said that no arrest had been made and that he did not have access to a suspect description or any other information.
Suspect in 17 local burglaries to be in court
Police have found the owner of a Sheriff’s Academy class ring found in the possession of a Canyon Lake woman linked to 17 burglaries in Newport Beach, according to Newport Beach Police.
Michelle Lorraine Hughes, 29, remained in custody at Orange County Jail on $1,020,000 bail Saturday, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
She is scheduled to appear in court Monday.
Peeping Tom is reported in Costa Mesa
Costa Mesa police are investigating a report of a peeping Tom in the 300 block of West Bay Street just after 11 p.m. Friday.
The man was described as being in his early 40s. No other information was available Saturday evening, as the police report was not yet finished.
