Breakers reap benefits
The Laguna Beach High girls’ volleyball program held its annual team banquet on Dec. 4 at the Women’s Club in Laguna Beach.
Team awards were handed out during a night that celebrated the program’s success in 2006.
The girls’ varsity team won Orange Coast League, CIF Southern Section and Southern California Regional Division III championships and advanced to San Jose for the State Division III title match.
The 2006 season was the third best in school history, record wise.
“Collectively, you really can’t do much better than all three of our teams did this year,” Coach Lance Stewart said in regards to the varsity, junior varsity and frosh/soph teams all winning league championships.
“There are a lot of good volleyball players in our program. It’s fun to sit back and watch these kids play.”
