Lighting skate to Norris title

Karson Derego scored the third of his match-high three goals in the third period of Saturday’s Norris Division fall season championship match, lifting the Lightning over the Kings, 3-2, at Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach.
Derego also scored goals in the first and second periods, the second coming off an assist from Nicholas Thompson.
Kyler Scott recorded 25 saves.
The Kings received goals from Caden Thompson and Alec Dahl. Michael Peters and Tyler McLuckey each had an assist, and Ethan Higbee had 28 saves.

Lemieux Division
Thunder 8, Doesn’t Matter 6
Thunder outscored Doesn’t Matter, 6-3, in the final period to pull out the title.
Jordan Wallace scored three goals, and Mitchel Gonzales had a pair to lead the Thunder on offense. Wesley Keizer, Justin Pederson and Patrick Lacy each scored once. Wallace also led the team in assists with three, Gonzales had two and Keizer and Spenser had one apiece.
Ryan Harrison had 26 saves.
Doesn’t Matter’s Aaron Nguyen topped all scorers with four goals. Ryan Daley and Greg Weaver each scored once, Drew Bertoni and Spencer Thomas both had two assists, Daley and Nguyen each had one assist and Matthew Duran finished with 20 saves.
Patrick Division
Sharp Shooters 4, C2C Kings 2
The Sharp Shooters opened up a 3-1 lead and went on to defeat the C2C Kings in the final.
Dylan Dongird, Nick Hansen, Shaun Black and Sean Easton all scored goals. Easton also picked up two assists, Dongird had one assist, and Casey Childers had 26 saves.
Kyle Merrick had a goal and assist, Cody Merrick a goal, Brad Giczewski an assist, and Andrew Skowron added 21 saves for C2C.
