Newport Harbor 4, El Toro 2 PKs
SANTA ANA — Sophomore Lauren Devoy scored the game-tying goal with six minutes left in regulation, which ended, 3-3, and Newport eventually won on penalty kicks Wednesday in the first round of the Excalibur Tournament at Foothill High.
Emily Ohlhaver and Lindley Wren added regulation-time goals for the Sailors (5-3-2), who came from behind twice in the second half. Ohlhaver, Gillan Hogan, Kayla Henrie and Carly Ruiz then all scored on PKs for the win. Goalie Mary Giberson made five saves.
Newport plays in the second round of the tournament today at 9:30 a.m.

KEENE, N.H. — The Sailors advanced to the final of the Keene Invitational with a school record eight three-pointers from senior Chad Stassel Wednesday at Keene State College.
Stassel hit eight-of-10 three-pointers, to eclipse the previous school record of six, for a game-high 26 points for the Sailors (7-4).
