Celia Huling recorded five saves.

Beeler took over the head coaching position from Rick McKee, who resigned Dec. 12.

Beeler is assisted by Ethan Damato.

“I give all the credit from this win to Rick McKee and his assistant,” said Beeler, the head coach of Laguna Beach Age Group Water Polo. “They had the girls ready.

“I liked coaching the high school kids. I had a smile on my face the entire match. I only hope that I can keep this team up and going the way that Rick did.”

Laguna also played Sage Hill on Wednesday, but the score was not available at press time.

Following winter break, the Breakers return to the pool on Jan. 9 to host Santa Margarita.
