The All-Stars, an Under-10 division boys’ soccer team out of AYSO Region 56, won four games handily last weekend to capture the Area 11K tournament.
The All-Stars cruised to easy wins (8-0, 9-2, 2-1) in their first three games, then capped their dominant run by blanking the Blue Destroyers, 7-0, in the final.
Devin Lahtinen, Daniel Schulze, Connor Gordon and Garrett Mullins led an aggressive offense for the All-Stars.
Schulze scored in the opening minutes of the match to give the All-Stars a 1-0 lead, and Lahtinen and Justin Geer combined for the team’s second goal.
The goaltending of Greer, Dallas Syfert and CJ Stovall held the Destroyers — representing Region 117 — scoreless. Geer rejected a penalty kick in the second half to preserve the shutout.
Ryan Shiner led the All-Stars’ charge at midfield, and the defensive was led by Stovall, Greer, Griffin Clement and Alex Hicks.
The All-Stars, now 16-0-1 overall, will represent Region 56 in the Section championships, being held Feb. 17-18, 2007 in San Marcos.

Teal of Terror wins area title
Teal of Terror, a girls’ Under-12 team out of Region 55, went 3-0-1 last weekend to win their Area 11K division crown.
Teal of Terror — still undefeated after 13 matches — will compete for a Section tournament title in San Marcos in February.
The scoring of striker Madison Koci and Anna Day, plus the offensive work of Lauren Waldeck, Brianna Crother, Devon Graber and Regan Shaver, helped guide the team to three tournament victories.
Teal of Terror averaged almost four goals per game in the regular season.
Defensively, Teal of Terror was led by Katie Carter, Marisa Stubbs and Jessica Alvarez. Aaliyah Olmedo controlled the midfield, and fullbacks Jade Capristo, Chloe Lippold and Emilie Bergman helped protect goalie Mallory Koci.
The Teal of Terror defense allowed only one goal in four tournament matches.
