MAXINE LUCILLE MURRAY
A memorial service is scheduled Wednesday for Maxine Lucille Murray of Newport Beach. She died at 87 of natural causes.
Murray was born in Dexter, Kan., Nov. 30, 1919. She was a homemaker who lived in Newport Beach for 30 years.
She is survived by two sons, Bruce and Rod.
A service will be held at 11:15 a.m. Wednesday at the Pacific View Memorial Park, 3500 Pacific View Drive, Corona del Mar.
BETTY L. THORNTON
Services are scheduled Saturday to remember 42-year Newport Beach resident Betty L. Thornton, who died Thursday at age 90.
Thornton, a homemaker, was born in Los Angeles Aug. 7, 1916. She died of congestive heart failure.
She is survived by her sons, Rick and Mark; a daughter, Judy West; and three grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the chapel at Pacific View Memorial Park, 3500 Pacific View Drive, Corona del Mar.
AGNES MCNEIL SMITH
Agnes McNeil Smith, a longtime resident of Newport Beach, died at home of natural causes on Dec. 3. She was 92.
Smith was born June 12, 1914 in Greenock, Scotland, and worked for the American Red Cross in New York and as a blood worker in World War II. She lived on Balboa Island for 61 years.
She is survived by her son Tom; three daughters, Elizabeth, Carol Sue Whittam and Jeanette Gavilio; and seven grandchildren.
Memorial donations can be made to the Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian 552 Club or the American Red Cross.
