WESTMINSTER — Stefan Kaluz scored a game-high 24 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead the Sea Kings to the first-round win in the La Quinta Tournament Monday.

Ali Meshkin added 12 rebounds for CdM (2-0), which also received contributions from Eddie Lane (eight points), John Joyce (eight points) and Joey Jones (six assists).

CdM plays Edison today at 5 p.m. in a quarterfinal game.

WESTMINSTER — Blake Pinto, who was six of 13 from three-point range, scored a game-high 28 points in the Eagles’ first-round loss in the La Quinta Tournament Monday.

Pinto also grabbed six rebounds and collected four steals. Ian Castellanos finished with eight points, five rebounds and two assists for the Eagles (1-4).

IRVINE — Lyndsay Anderson and Amber Munnelly each scored five points, but the Sailors were outscored, 23-2, in the third quarter and dropped their second consecutive game at the South Coast Classic at University High.

Newport Harbor (1-3) moves into the consolation bracket and will play Friday at 4:30 p.m.
