The Sawdust Art Festival’s Winter Fantasy community tree lighting ceremony will take place at 5:30 p.m.; residents receive free admission to the event, at 935 Laguna Canyon Road, beginning at 2 p.m.

BOOK DISCUSSION/SIGNING

Author and California historian Adam Collings will discuss “California/West of the West” from noon to 2 p.m. at Latitude 33 Bookstore, 313 Ocean Ave. A limited quantity of first-edition copies will be made available for signing. Information: (949) 366-5356.

BLUEBIRD PARK THANKSGIVING

Thanksgiving Day potluck dinner, everyone welcome whether they bring a dish or not.
