Students exposed to Prokofiev works
El Morro Elementary students attended the first of several events geared at music appreciation at the school on Nov. 9, through the Pacific Symphony’s Class Act program.
At the Prelude Assembly, kids listened to violinist Dana Freeman and storyteller Linda King Pruitt, learned about composer Sergei Prokofiev, and heard excerpts from famous works, including “Romeo and Juliet” and “Peter and the Wolf.”
Freeman will teach in the coming months, and other activities are scheduled, including a performance at the new Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall.
