Here are a few items the council will consider Monday:
ZONING TEXT AMENDMENT
Council members will consider modifications to three sections of the Huntington Beach zoning laws relating to definitions of vehicle storage, activity and parking.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Council members will vote on the zoning item to better define storage activity and clarify nonresidential parking and loading issues.
NEW CITY HISTORIAN
Duane Wentworth, son of the late city clerk and historian Alicia Wentworth, will be appointed as the new city historian.
WHAT TO EXPECT
The position is a voluntary one. Wentworth, who is a city employee, will follow in his mother’s footsteps by becoming the next city historian of Huntington Beach. Council members will also establish a formal process of selecting a city historian and will set aside funds to support research, storage and reproduction of historical records.
ABANDONED SHOPPING CARTS
The City Council plans to amend the Huntington Beach Municipal Code regarding shopping carts to be retrieved by owners.
WHAT TO EXPECT
The amendment calls for owners and business operators to take reasonable measures to prevent removal of shopping carts for the convenience of its customers.
