COSTA MESA — Dylan Rolfe’s two goals led the Pirates to a Orange Empire Conference victory Friday.

Matt Schirmer and Juan Maza each scored goals for the Pirates (9-7-6, 5-4-5 in conference). John Clark, Ignacia Rivera and Jordan Joseph had assists.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

WALNUT — Courtney Ford scored 18 and Robin Smith added 11 for the Pirates.

Rachel Maulit chipped in with nine points for OCC (2-0), which won in the first round of the Mt. San Antonio College Tournament.

Orange Coast improved to 2-0 on the season.

VENTURA — Shaun Engle scored 18 points, Steve Cornett added 13 and Miguel Gonzalez finished with 11 for the Pirates (0-2) in their second-round loss in the Ventura Tournament.

UC Irvine def. Cal State Fullerton

IRVINE — McCall Miller finished with a game high 18 kills to help lead the Anteaters past the Titans 30-27, 31-29, 30-21 in a Big West Conference match Friday.

Lauren Kellerman had 16 kills and Alexandra Filkins ended with six kills.

Vanguard def. Hope International

COSTA MESA — Four Lions’ players finished with double digit kills to help Vanguard sweep past Hope International 30-25, 30-28, 32-30 in the Golden State Athletic Conference season finale Friday.

The win should secure a playoff birth for the Lions in the NAIA Region II Tournament Tuesday.
