Breakers 2 start fast, finish off Breakaways in 9-0 win
The Breakers 2 blistered the net for six first-quarter goals in the Campbell Division match against the Breakaways and rode that hot start to a 9-0 victory at Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach.
The Breakers 2 offense scored three more goals in the second quarter while the defense shut down the Breakaways from start to finish.
Ethan Michaelis, Jordan Bonner and John Keegan each scored twice to pace the Breakers 2 offense. Single goals were scored by Matthew Golf, Hunter Tait and Bryce Hed.
Michaelis also picked up a pair of assists and Bonner, Keegan and Golf also had assists.
Nolan Strout got the shutout with 14 saves.
In other Campbell Division action:
HB Psychos 7, Devils 2
Garrett Zolg scored three goals as the HB Psychos downed the Devils.
Jeff Klimczak scored twice and Preston Alvarez and Maverick Knight each scored once. Assists went to Zolg, Klimczak and Knight.
Cole Kennedy recorded 12 saves.
Danielle Oliver and Peter Skowron scored unassisted goals for the Devils and Nikolas St. Onge finished with 26 saves.
Hot Wheels 4, Surf City Sharks 2
The Hot Wheels outscored the Surf City Sharks by two goals in the final period to break away from a 1-1 tie.
Justin Ferrall, Jordan Reichenbach and Shane Cupp all scored in the third quarter for the Hot Wheels, whose first goal was posted in the first quarter by Jake Gealy.
Gealy, Preston Yamasaki, Parker Murchison and Kyle Barrett all had assists and Aaron Maccabi had 16 saves.
Joshua Wagoner scored both goals for the Surf City Sharks, Cassie Moan had an assist and Corey Childers stopped 10 shots on goal.
Puckenators 8, Fruity Pebbles 1
The Puckenators took a 5-0 lead into the final quarter of play and went on to defeat the Fruity Pebbles.
Brayden Moore scored three goals, Cole Pavlik and Drew Burack each scored twice and Charley Lowe once for the Puckenators.
Bailey Lowe led the team in assists with three, Moore had two and Charley Lowe and Pavlik each had an assist.
Kyler Scott had 14 saves.
Kelsey Callanan scored the lone goal for the Fruity Pebbles and Chris Hernandez had 11 saves.
