Volleyball tryout is Saturday

Main Beach Volleyball Club of Laguna Beach will hold open tryout session Saturday at Thurston Middle School.

The tryout will run from 10 a.m. to noon. A second tryout date is Saturday, Nov. 11, from 1 to 3 p.m., also at Thurston.

The tryouts are open to girls ages 13 to 18 at no cost.

Raffle drawing to be held by soccer club

The Laguna Beach Soccer Club will hold a first-time raffle drawing on Nov. 8. The grand prize is a DeBilzan artwork. Other prizes include an acrylic on canvas by artist Iris Bourne, diamond stud earrings, a two night’s stay for two at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, as well as several others.

The cost per raffle ticket is $5.

Money raised by the raffle will support selected scholarship players who have the skills to play for the club, but not the funds. Additional funds will also go toward maintaining the club. Laguna Beach Soccer Club is a nonprofit organization.
