GIRLS’ TENNIS
Corona del Mar 16, Sage Hill 2
NEWPORT BEACH — Sea Kings Jill Damion and Melissa Matsuoka swept in singles to deal the Lightning (16-1) their first loss of the season in a nonleague match Wednesday at Balboa Bay Racquet Club.
The doubles teams of Hayley and Miranda Young, and Danielle Kaiden and Flora Lee swept in doubles for undefeated CdM, which closed out the regular season at 20-0.

NEWPORT BEACH — Blake Hockenbury scored three goals, while Colin McKibbin, Clint Jorth and Brandon Parole added two in the Sailors’ Sunset League win Wednesday.
Nick Yeager, Collin Sherman and Riley Hayes contributed one goal each for the Sailors (15-4, 4-0 in league). Newport goalies Bryce McLain and Myles Christian recorded four saves each.

NEWPORT BEACH — The Sailors made quick work of their Sunset League foes, 25-9, 25-7, 25-18, Wednesday.
Junior Katie Regan and senior Jessica Peschelt each had eight kills. Regan also had three digs and an ace, while Peschelt added two blocks for the Sailors (16-4, 6-2 in league) who are ranked No. 7 in CIF Southern Section Division I-AA.
Junior Megan Munce had 15 assists, while junior Alesha Young had 14 assists and six aces.
GIRLS’ GOLF
Pacific Coast League finals
CHINO — Senior Jessica Milner, senior Courtney Wright, sophomore Cierra Gaytan-Leach and senior Jonna Kim advanced to the second day of the Pacific Coast League finals, finishing in the top 12 of 26 golfers Wednesday at El Prado Golf Course.
Milner is fourth, 10 strokes behind the leader, after shooting a seven-over-par 79. Wright and Gaytan-Leach are tied for sixth with 83s. Kim is 12th after shooting an 89.
The top three today advance to the Southern Section tournament.
Sophomore Kelly Moorhead and junior Katherine Hanson narrowly missed the cut, shooting a 95 and 97, respectively.
