LOS ANGELES — The UC Irvine men’s water polo team lost to Pepperdine, 12-11, in double overtime, in the seventh-place game of the Southern California Tournament Sunday at USC.
The Anteaters fell, 12-8, in the fifth-place semifinal to Pacific earlier Sunday.
UCI, which received six combined goals from Colin Mello and five from Kyle Baxter, fell to 6-11.
UCI plays host to Cal Saturday at noon.

IRVINE — The Anteaters had an 8-4 shot advantage, but Aggies goalie Megan Daws made six saves in the nonconference deadlock Sunday at Anteater Stadium.
Freshman goalkeeper Gina Mehanna earned the first shutout of her career with two saves for the Anteaters (3-10-1).
Davis is now 7-4-2.
