Man exposes himself

A woman’s early-morning jog around the Laguna Beach High School track was marred Saturday when a man stood up in the bleachers and pulled his shirt over his head, exposing his genitals, Det. Sgt. Darin Lenyi said.

The incident is similar to a string of indecent exposures that have occurred in Irvine and in surrounding south Orange County cities.

The woman, in her mid-40s, reported that the man was nude except for white sneakers and a black-and-white plaid shirt. She was about 40 feet away when he pulled up the shirt, executed a hip-grinding motion, and called, “Do you like it?”

She responded, “Not really,” and continued her jog. By the time she got around to the same point in the track, the man was gone. The incident took place about 6:30 a.m.

“The M.O. fits a subject that has committed similar crimes in nearby cities, and is the first one we know of in Laguna Beach,” Lenyi said.
