Police arrest 10 men in prostitution sting

Costa Mesa Police arrested 10 men on suspicion of soliciting sexual acts from undercover police officers posing as prostitutes during a sting operation Friday night.

The sting was conducted to reduce prostitution in the area. Three female officers dressed as prostitutes and walked a section of Harbor Boulevard near South Coast Drive. The men were arrested after they allegedly negotiated with the officer to exchange money for sex.

The following men were arrested: Gary Yankowsky, 37, of La Mirada; George Ghalley, 28, of Costa Mesa; Ricardo Avalos, 40, Costa Mesa; Edgar Torres-Molina, 21, of Costa Mesa; Armando Hernandez, 35, of Costa Mesa; Jose Munoz, 24, of Garden Grove; Victor Ramirez, 33, of Fountain Valley; Hassan Alden, 42, of Downey; Wilber Ponce, 27, of Santa Ana; Jose Hernandez, 39, of Tustin.
