SANTA ANA — The Orange Coast College women’s soccer team trounced Santa Ana, 5-0, in an Orange Empire Conference clash Friday at the Dons’ field.
Sophomore Diana Johnson opened the scoring with an unassisted goal in the 20th minute.
Freshman Kelli Fresenius scored on an assist by Kelli Galligan in the 36th minute and sophomore Nicole Huff finalized the first-half scoring by converting a penalty kick in the 42nd minute.
Sophomore Stacey Shoop and Galligan, a freshman, added unassisted goals in the second half for the Pirates, who improved to 5-2, 2-0 in conference.
OCC goalie Katherine Johnson made four saves to earn the shutout.
Santa Ana fell to 1-4-3, 0-1.
The Pirates outshot the Dons, 16-5.

Orange Coast def. Mt. SAC
COSTA MESA — Sophomore star Kiwi Winkler produced 13 kills and 15 digs to spearhead the Pirates’ 30-18, 30-18, 30-27 nonconference triumph over the visiting Mounties on Friday.
Jacqi Reed chipped in with eight kills, while Chelsea Spadaro had 17 assists and Ashlee Moon added 13 digs for the defending state champions, who improved to 4-0.
Mt. SAC fell to 2-2.
The Pirates are at the Santa Ana Tourmament today.

LAS VEGAS — Sophomore Matt Murphy scored in the ninth minute with an assist from senior Brandon Tario and the Anteaters made it stand up in the opening round of the UNLV Rebel Classic on Friday.
UCI allowed only five shots and senior goalkeeper Kenny Schoeni earned his third shutout of the season with one save.
UCI (4-1-1) will conclude the tournament on Sunday against St. Mary’s.
Orange Coast 2, Glendale 0
GLENDALE — Matt Schirmer scored in the seventh minute and Amir added insurance in the 63rd minute to propel the Pirates in the nonconference game Friday night.
The win ended a two-game losing skid for the Pirates (3-3).
Ian Cone and Dave Barnett earned assists on Schirmer’s goal, while Cone added an assist on the second goal.
Alex Roberts had four saves to earn the shutout for OCC.
Glendale falls to 0-7.
WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL
St. Mary’s def. UC Irvine
PALO ALTO, Calif. — Freshman McCall Miller had 14 kills, but it wasn’t enough as the Anteaters dropped a 24-30, 30-19, 30-22, 30-18 verdict Friday in the Stanford Invitational.
Trisha Miller hit .625 and had 11 kills for UCI (3-4), which had its three-match win streak snapped.
Taryn Robertson had 37 assists for UCI.
