SIANI — DE PFYFFER

Sandra Sue Siani is engaged to Craig Matthew de Pfyffer. Both are Laguna Beach High School graduates.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Mrs. Maria Siani and the late Salvatore Siani. The prospective groom is the son of Sherry and Paul de Pfyffer.

Siani received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from UCLA. De Pfyffer received a bachelor’s degree in environmental design from the University of Colorado at Boulder.

The two were separated by a year in school, de Pfyffer being a grade ahead of Siani, and they attended many events together — including a 1976 Thurston Junior High river trip — in addition to school dances and competitive swimming events. But they didn’t connect until both attended a Sunday concert at Bluebird Park on July 31, 2005.

After 11 months of courtship, De Pfyffer proposed to Siani on a gondola ride in Venice, Italy, on June 20.

A marriage date has not yet been set.
