Vikings baseball holding tryouts
The H.B. Vikings Baseball Club is currently evaluating new players on an individual basis for the upcoming fall and spring seasons.
As of Sept. 1, the club team, which is entering its third year, will compete in the 12-year-old division. The team is open to any player who has turned 12 after May 1, 2006 or will be 12 by April 30, 2007.

Quiksilver to host movie premiere
Quiksilver announced Monday that its skate team, featuring skateboarding pioneer and legend, Christian Hosoi, will tour the country premiering the new documentary, “Rising Son, The Legend of Skateboarder Christian Hosoi.”
The eight-city tour, which begins today at Quiksilver headquarters in Huntington Beach, will feature free theater and outdoor screenings of the film, as well as skateboarding demonstrations and autograph signings by Hosoi, Arto Saari, Stefan Janoski, Omar Hassan, Reese Forbes, Kyle Leeper, Dylan Reider, Omar Salazar and Eric Fletcher, among others.
The Huntington Beach event will be both a premier and skateboarding demonstration.

Today: Huntington Beach (demo and premiere); Aug. 19: Wilson State Park, Chicago (demo); Aug. 20: River East Arts Center, Chicago (premiere); Aug. 22: Mount Trashmore, Virginia Beach, Va. (demo and premiere); Aug. 23: Fairman’s, West Chester, Pa. (signing) and Chester County Historic Society, West Chester, Pa. (premiere); Aug. 27: Knitting Factory, New York City (premiere); Aug. 31: Bluebird, Denver (premiere); Sept. 1: Denver Skate Park, Denver (demo); Sept. 3: Pacifica Skate Park , San Francisco (demo) and The Log Shop, Pacifica, San Francisco (premiere).
