POLICE MOTORCYCLE DRIVERS
The City Council plans to approve an agreement with the Boeing Co. and the city’s police motorcycle drivers to allow the periodic use of Boeing’s parking lots for training purposes.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Council members will most likely approve the agreement with Boeing to allow police motorcycle drivers to train at its parking lots periodically.
IMPROVING BEACH BOULEVARD, EDINGER CORRIDOR
The City Council will authorize agreements with two professional agencies to prepare a plan for improving Beach Boulevard and Edinger Corridor.
WHAT TO EXPECT
The Council probably will hire Freedman, Tung and Bottomley Inc. for about $600,000 and Rosenow Spevacek Group Inc. for about $160,000 to prepare an economic revitalization plan for Beach Boulevard and the Edinger Corridor. Freedman, Tung and Bottomley will be asked to prepare a strategy to specifically revive Beach Boulevard. The Rosenow Spevacek Group will be in charge of coming up with a plan for Beach Boulevard and Edinger Avenue, two main thoroughfares of the city. The item was submitted by Economic Development Director Stanley Smalewitz and acting Planning Director Scott Hess.
STRATEGIC PLAN
The city will consider approving the city of Huntington Beach Strategic Plan that was revised in June this year.
WHAT TO EXPECT
The City Council undertook a strategic planning process this year to come up with a list of priority goals and projects for the next five years. The projects involve city services, economic development and engaging the community, as well as financial, infrastructure and land-use development.
