More than 120 students, family and instructors were present for the conclusion of the Laguna College of Art & Design’s Arts Education Community Outreach program July 27.
The event showcased the works of the students involved in the two programs — College Credit Classes for Talented Teens, and Professional Development for High School Teachers.
Acknowledgment of financial sponsors were also given to Disneyland Resort, Wells Fargo Foundation, Edison International, and PacifiCare Foundation, whose cumulative contribution totaled $25,160.
The Talented Teens scholarship program supports a broad constituency and strives to build self-esteem, reinforce interest in the visual arts, and prepare students both personally and academically for college level instruction. Students who successfully complete the course receive two units of credit that are transferable to the college of their choice.
Professional Development for High School Teachers supports the continued education of high school art teachers who demonstrate academic excellence in the classroom.
