The Orange County Genealogical Society meets in the Huntington Beach Central Library on “German Genealogy on the Internet,” beginning at 9:30 a.m.. Joan Lowrey, the president of the Computer Genealogy Society of San Diego will present a two-part lecture, during the day. The Bafulous Nomads, Pollo del Mar and Chum will perform at 1 p.m. and Bob de Sena’s Latin Jazz Ensemble at 5 p.m. in the Huntington Beach Central Park as part of the Huntington Beach Band Concert series. College-bound high school students are reminded to register for the ACT exams which will be given on Sept. 16. Registration is due Aug. 18. Cost: $29 and $43 for students wishing to take the additional writing test. Pick up forms at any high school guidance counseling office or register online at www.actstudent.org.
