Wes Ethridge, an all-state pitcher at Cypress College in 2006, is among three players who have signed national letters of intent to play baseball at UC Irvine next season.
Chance Gerloff, a transfer from Eastern Oklahoma State College, and Santa Margarita High product Daniel Bibona join Ethridge as the latest recruits. They have been added to a group of 12 who signed early in November.
Ethridge was 8-1 with eight saves for Cypress in 2006. The 6-foot-2 right-hander out of Huntington Beach appeared in 30 games and made two starts. He posted a 2.65 ERA, struck out 66 in 78 innings and limited opponents to a .214 batting average.
Gerloff, a shortstop, batted .320 with two homers, 27 RBIs and 25 stolen bases in 29 attempts for the Mountaineers in 2006. He had 12 doubles, 24 walks and scored 37 runs en route to earning first-team all-region honors.
Bibona, a left-handed pitcher and outfielder, went 5-4 with a 1.81 ERA for the Eagles in 2006. He fanned 69 in 46 1/3 innings, allowing 36 hits and walking 11.
