NIKE GET FIT GIRL

This is an opportunity to take part in a guided 3-mile walk or run. Men, women, children, walkers and runners are all welcome. Warm-up and stretching starts at 9 a.m. and then the run and walk both begin. Nike store will provide water, snacks and a workout journal and hold a monthly raffle. SWIM LESSONS

A variety of swim lessons are available at Orange Coast College for all levels of swimmers. Beginning water polo classes are also offered. Class meets Monday through Friday for two weeks. All classes are small for individual attention and are taught by Red Cross instructors. Fee is $51 for a ten-day session. Sign-ups are available at the OCC Gym pool Monday through Friday. YOUNG ARTIST WORKSHOPS

Artists age 8 and older can learn how to draw and experiment with painting in a pair of workshops. The first, Exploring Drawing, will be offered from 9:30 to 10:50 a.m. and will involve pencil, pen, ink, pastels and charcoal. The second, Drawing and Painting, will be from 11 a.m. to 12:20 p.m. and will teach students about painting skills and watercolor techniques. Both classes meet on Tuesdays. Fee is $64. TEEN STUDY SKILLS

Orange Coast College offers a course, Study Skills, for kids age 11 to 14. The class meets from 9 to 10:20 a.m. and emphasizes note-taking, memorization, test-taking skills, etc. Fee is $70. Students may sign up on campus, online at www.occtickets.com or by phone at (714) 432-5880.

TEEN CREATIVE WRITING
