Four not poor for Sage Hill softball

The Sage Hill softball team had four players who were All-Academy League selections this season. Senior Rebecca Hembarsky and sophomore Katie McKeon were first-team picks. Seniors Allison Gonzalez and Christina Mainero were second-team selections.

Gonzalez was a Daily Pilot Female Athlete of the Week honoree for the Lightning, who went just 2-8 in the Academy League. She was the owner of the strongest arm on the Sage Hill squad and the quickest legs with 14 stolen bases.

Gonzalez hit .321 in league action with a .424 on-base percentage.

Hembarsky’s primary position was shortstop, which she played with aplomb. She signed to play at NCAA Division I Lafayette College next season.
