Newport’s Harris is singled out

Newport Harbor High junior left-handed pitcher Drew Harris, who emerged as the ace of the Sailors’ baseball team this spring, was the lone Sailor named first-team All-Sea View League by the circuit’s coaches.
Senior center fielder Skylar Cozad and junior third baseman P.J. Errington were second-team picks
Harris went 7-5 this season with an ERA of 1.96, helping the Sailors rebound from last year’s 8-17 record and finish 13-12.
Cozad batted .315 with one home run and 11 RBIs for the Sailors this season. Cozad went two for three with an RBI in Newport Harbor’s 7-4 win over Westlake in the Beach Pit Classic title game.
Errington batted .321 with 11 RBIs for the Sailors. He hit a blast that hit the top of the fence and bounced back into the field of play during Newport Harbor’s 7-4 win over Westlake in the Beach Pit Classic championship game and played a steady third base.
Parker was 3-3 with a 2.35 ERA and had 35 strikeouts in 35 2/3 innings.
Thompson came up with some clutch hits and played a solid second base for the Sailors.
