Costa Mesa police were searching for clues in the Saturday morning shooting death of a 38-year-old Costa Mesa man.
Andres Norberto Hernandez Roxon was found dead in an alley in the 800 block of Center Street at 5:30 a.m., police said.
Police said the shooting does not appear to be gang-related. The death is being investigated as a homicide.
The alley behind Center Street on Costa Mesa’s Westside was quiet Saturday afternoon, with no visible signs of a killing.
Police do not have any suspects and would not release additional information. Anyone who may have witnessed the shooting is asked to call Costa Mesa police, (714) 754-5356.
This is the third deadly shooting in Costa Mesa this year. Most recently, a Santa Ana man was killed in a gang-related shooting near Filmore Way. Four reputed gang members have been arrested and are suspected of the shooting. In February, a 21-year-old Costa Mesa man was shot to death during a fight near Wallace Avenue and Hamilton Street.
