Taylor will compete in both the shot put and the discus, where he will go against, among others, rival Nick Robinson of El Toro High.
Cummings, who competed for the Sea Kings in track and field, as well as cross country, is scheduled to run the 3,200 meters. She finished second in the CIF Southern Section Division III cross country final last fall.

Taylor set a state meet record in the discus in the preliminaries with a throw of 213 feet, 7 inches.
In the final, his best discus throw was 201-5, topped only by Darius Savage from Morse High in San Diego. Savage is not among the Golden West Invitational entrants.
In the shot put final, Taylor recorded a personal-best distance of 63-11 1/4 .
Past participants in the Golden West Invitational include the late Steve Prefontaine, Dwight Stone and Marion Jones.
