Open Gatherings discussion of Gospel of Judas
Open Gatherings, an informal salon-style lecture followed by discussion, returns for a single evening at 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 5 at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 429 Cypress Drive.
The evening’s topic is “What do a fossil fish, the Gospel of Judas, and InfoTech have in common ? and why should I care?” led by Rev. Tari Lennon.
The discussion will interweave discussion about the new light recently shed on the Gospel of Judas; the evidence of evolution presented by Tiktaalik roseae, the recently discovered 375-million-year-old “missing link” fish; and the shift to information technology ? and who is being left behind by it.
Open Gatherings is an “un-church” that draws together people from all faiths and non-faiths to explore topics of spirituality, politics, relationships, and personal ethics.
“Our goal is to provide people with a platform by which they can envision a more promising future and feel less alone,” Lennon said.
Open Gatherings offers a venue for discussing spirituality, and serves no doctrine or ideology.
Admission is free; donations are welcome. Free childcare is available for ages four and older. Information: (949) 370-7040 or visit www.opengatherings.com.
