Heinle pitches intent

Krystal Heinle is the three-time player of the year in the Sunset League, and the Marina High senior pitcher made a bid on April 6 to hold the title for a fourth consecutive year.

All Heinle did in the league opener for both Marina and Fountain Valley was toss a no-hitter at the visiting Barons in a game won by the Vikings, 2-0.

Heinle, who improved her record to 10-2, struck out 10 and walked two along the way.

Marina scored once in the first and tacked on a final run in the sixth to notch its 12th victory in 14 games this year.
