Sea Kings duel with Diablos
The meaning is unmistakable. No. 1 vs. No. 2. The two best, facing off against each other.
That’s why Thursday’s nonleague swim meet between Mission Viejon High and Corona del Mar should be a classic. The contest gets underway at 3:15 p.m.
The Diablos have arguably Orange County’s best girls’ swim team, after finishing second at last year’s CIF Southern Section Division I finals.
The Sea Kings can lay claim to that title also, having finished second to University at the Division II finals last year.
Both sides have stellar individuals. Both have depth in the relays. So, a big showdown figures to be in store.
The boys’ portion of the meet should be highly competitive too. Mission Viejo is among the top programs in the county, and the Sea Kings are a promising, though largely unheralded group.
