Mustangs have a great Day

SANTA ANA ? Costa Mesa High senior Jasmin Day won three individual events, while Mustangs teammates Danielle Morton and Cheyenne Lopez won two in a 78-50 victory over Santa Ana in a Golden West League girls’ track and field dual meet Thursday.

Day won the high jump (5 feet, 8 inches), the 100-meter hurdles (17.2) and the 300 hurdles (51.0) and also contributed to the winning 1,600 meter relay.

Morton, a junior, won the long jump (15-1) and the triple jump (32-0 3/4 ).

Lopez won the shot put (28-2) and the discus throw (79-4 1/2 ).

Tracy Bjelland won the 400 (1:02.5), was second in the 200 and the high jump, and was on the winning 1,600 relay.

Costa Mesa improved to 3-0, 3-0 in league.
