UCI leaves home with win

IRVINE -- UC Irvine’s baseball team closed out its first homestand of the season with a 6-4 win over Loyola Marymount on Tuesday night.
Brock Bardeen drove in two runs for the Anteaters (3-1), who open a three-game series Friday at Hawaii. Blair Erickson pitched a scoreless ninth inning for his second save of the year.
UCI took the lead for good in the sixth inning after Loyola Marymount (1-3) tied the score at 4-4.
Taylor Holiday led off with a single and Cody Cipriano was hit by a pitch one out later. Bardeen then tripled down the right field line to drive them in.
Chris Lopez, the fourth of six UCI pitchers, got the win.
