OCC baseball separateCOSTA MESA -- Orange Coast College freshman Eric Oliver hit a first-inning grand slam to help the Pirates’ baseball team beat Western Nevada, 8-5, and improve to 5-0.
Sophomore Kyle Hogue pitched five solid relief innings to earn the victory for the Pirates, the designated visitors.
Oliver, a first baseman, finished 2 for 5 with five RBI. OCC freshman shortstop Nick Rotkowitz went 3 for 4 and drove in one run.
Brandon Rocha and Stephen Schneider also had two hits for the winners.
Justin Tucker pitched two scoreless relief innings for OCC.
