Laguna Beach Seniors Inc. will have a monthly general membership meeting at 12:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 13, at the Veterans Memorial Community Center, 384 Legion St.
Guest speakers will be Colleen Wollach, community relations officer for the Laguna Beach Police Department, along with Sandy Hester from the Council on Aging’s Friendly Visitor/Caring Connections program.
The Council on Aging Orange County and Laguna Beach Seniors Inc. are partnering on a project in Laguna Beach to provide companionship to isolated seniors.
The Caring Connections-Friendly Visitors service reaches seniors who are homebound or living in nursing facilities without friends or family who visit.
Seniors who are benefiting from the Caring Connection-Friendly Visitor Program can look forward to a minimum one-hour visit each week from a person who is a trained volunteer and has donated his or her time to be a companion.
Members and friends are invited to attend. Information: (949) 497-2441.
