Sailors get tourney split

MISSION VIEJO -- The Newport Harbor High boys’ soccer team split its opening games at the Trabuco Hills Tournament on Wednesday.
The Sailors blanked Morro Bay, 2-0, in the first game of the day, and lost to Century, 1-0, in the afternoon contest.
Freshman midfielder Jeremy Anish scored both goals in the victory over Morro Bay.
The Sailors lacked a spark on offense in their second game of the day against a strong Century squad.
Newport Harbor (5-3) has two more games scheduled in the tournament today.
GIRLS’ SOCCER
Ocean View 2, Estancia 1
HUNTINGTON BEACH -- Ocean View scored the go-ahead goal on a penalty kick with less than five minutes remaining in a Golden West League contest Wednesday.
Marina Abdul scored in the first half for the Eagles (3-5-1, 1-2 in league) on a penalty kick, and Erin Davis contributed seven saves at goalkeeper.
Tricia Erznick scored both goals for the Seahawks (1-0-1 in league).
Estancia continues play after the holiday break.
