Bruins topple Mighty Ducks

Paniz scores twice in 3-1 victory.The Bruins scored the final three goals of their Adams Division match against the Mighty Ducks and went on to post a 3-1 victory at Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach.

The Mighty Ducks took a 1-0 lead after one period on a goal by Casey Rhodes, but from that point forward, the Bruins’ defense and goalies Austin Heinz and Austin Heilman didn’t allow another goal.

The Bruins tied the score on a second-period goal by Matthew Paniz, then took the lead in the third period on a goal by Anthony Martinez.

Paniz added an insurance goal later in the period, the score set up by an assist from Melissa Paniz.

Ismael Ralsten had 12 saves for the Mighty Ducks.

Blackhawks 4, Rangers 3

Garret Zolg powered his way to four goals to lift the Blackhawks past the Rangers.

Zolg’s first score of the day came off an assist from Haley Miller.

Trent Sievers finished with 10 saves.

Jeff Klimczak scored twice to pace the Rangers, and Nolan Strout had 11 saves.

Wing Nuts 3, Sharks 2

Amanda Vongries scored all three goals for the Wing Nuts, who came back from a 2-0 deficit to pull out the victory.

The Sharks had taken a 2-0 lead after one period on goals by Jordan Reichenbach and Joshua Wagoner, with Wagoner scoring off an assist from Reichenbach.

Joel Hatala had 16 saves for the Sharks and Peter Skowron 22 for the Wing Nuts.
