‘Eaters thumped

WESTWOOD -- UC Irvine’s women’s basketball team remained winless after absorbing a 92-54 loss at the hands of UCLA on Wednesday night.

The Anteaters (0-5) shot 27.4% from the field in the game and made 4 of 26 three-pointers. UCLA scored 46 points in each half, making 6 of its 9 three-point shots.

Kirian Ishizaki led UCI with 10 points, making two three-pointers. Angie Ned added nine points and two steals, but played just 18 minutes in the contest. Miranda Forry came off the bench to score eight points, and Annie Mai added seven points.

Noelle Quinn led UCLA (3-2) with 24 points and added seven rebounds, six assists and three blocks. Lisa Willis added 20 points, eight rebounds and three steals.

The Anteaters return to action on Sunday when they travel to Santa Clara to face the Broncos.
