CALL IT ‘GOVCAST’
Watch Orange County Supervisor Jim Silva on Tuesday record his first-ever podcast -- a digitally recorded program that can be downloaded from the Web and played back from a digital audio player such as an iPod.
Silva, who represents a district that includes Costa Mesa and most of Newport Beach, plans to discuss misconceptions about Orange County government and the importance of saving money.
Silva will record the podcast at 2:30 p.m. in the supervisors’ board room, 10 Civic Center Plaza, Santa Ana. For more information call (714) 834-3220.
TALK ABOUT BACK BAY
Hikers, bicyclists and others who use the trails around Newport Bay may want to attend a town hall meeting Wednesday to discuss the bay and the Upper Newport Bay Nature Preserve. Topics at the meeting will include ways to enhance access and preserve the area’s habitat.
The meeting will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Peter and Mary Muth Interpretive Center. Parking for the center is on University Avenue near the intersection with Irvine Avenue.
