Renegades claim title

Inline hockey team overwhelms the Swarm to finish the season at the top of Smythe Division.The Renegades blistered the nets for seven goals over the final two periods in their Smythe Division championship showdown with the Swarm, rolling to a 10-2 victory at Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach.

Chase Lipscomb, Christopher Kao, Joshua Fowler and Dacha Dongrid each scored two goals to lead the Renegades in scoring. Single goals were scored by Jason Saenz and Aron Wong.

Fowler and Wong each had two assists, and Saenz, Kao and Lipscomb each had an assist. Jayce Borski recorded 18 saves in goal.

Scoring first period goals for the Swarm were Noah Charnell and Kayden Muzila. Kevin Baumann had an assist, and Levi Duren finished with 26 saves.

Howe Division

Bombers 4, Thunder 3

The Bombers jumped out to an early three-goal lead, then held off a late charge by the Thunder to win the postseason tournament.

The scoring for the Bombers was spread between Nick Iacono, Charley Rymer, Stephen Marchand and Phillip Berman, who scored the decisive goal in the third period.

Michael Marchand had an assist and Kenneth Nguyen had 25 saves.

Sean Mastro scored twice and Jeff Flicker scored once during a three-goal third period by the Thunder. Alex Kemp had two assists, and Brendan Heaslet had one assist.

Jonathan Cao had 23 saves.

Patrick Division

Gimps 5, Blind 2

Five Gimps scored goals in a victory over the Blind.

Justin Bracamontes, Tyler Estes, Jacob Gordon, Chas Scott and Eric Lyon each scored for the Gimps, who outscored the Blind, 4-1, over the final two periods.

Gordon, Mike Moore Jr. and Hunter Schmidt each had an assist, and Matt Duran finished with 26 saves in goal.

Ryan Gallegos and Bryan Marony scored goals for the Blind, Joel Dapello had two assists, and Joseph Baltazar had 35 saves.

Campbell Division

Roadrunners 6, Breakers 3

The Roadrunners scored five goals in the final period to pull out the win.

Riley Draghi led the Roadrunners with three goals, Chad Sasaki scored twice, and Robert Becker posted one goal. Sasaki and Preston Yamasaki each had an assist, and Brandon Sizemore had 16 saves.

Brent Rivera scored twice, Evan Gray had a goal and an assist, and Ethan Higbee had 23 saves for the Breakers.

Wales Division

Ice Dogs 3, Thunder 1

The Ice Dogs broke away from a 1-1 tie by scoring two goals in the final period.

Dylan Furr scored the go-ahead goal and Patrick Moan added an insurance goal, both coming in the third period.

Zachary Jezulin scored the first goal for the Ice Dogs, Furr, Moan, Jason Lally, Daniel Lewis and Alec Schartner each tallied assists, and Brandon Jones had 28 saves.

The Thunder got on the scoreboard in the first period when Dylan Dongird scored off an assist from Brad Giczewski.
