Kudos to responders

Following one glorious clear day, the North San Fernando Valley

caught fire; first the Chatsworth area and then Burbank.

My home is in the hills of Burbank. Black plumes of smoke rose

from behind the Castaway Restaurant.

During the entire incident, firefighters and police were

coordinated. There were many different fire departments in the area.

The entire operation seemed to just be so easy, but there must have

been much thought and planning to make it seem so.

I live very close to one of the ‘staging’ areas, where the crews

were able to take a bit of ‘time off’ to rest, eat and hopefully get

cleaned a bit. They had to be extremely exhausted! On many occasions

there was a parade of fire equipment from many areas of California,

such as Manhattan Beach, Vernon, Fresno, the County of Los Angeles,

and Glendale.

There can be no criticism of the state’s plan for emergency

response. The plan was in place and it worked. The police in Burbank

and the firefighters who responded from many areas were awesome. The

background I have given is long, but my message is very short.

Thank you firefighters, thank you police personnel and thank you

architects of the plan. California residents can truly rest easier

knowing that we have these dedicated individuals “on the job”
