Mother gives birth after special walk

Kim Leibe, who participated in the Children’s Hospital of Orange

County’s 5K walk Sunday in honor of her late son, Aidan, gave birth

to another child on Monday afternoon.

Kaitlyn Claire Leibe was born at St. Joseph Hospital of Orange

County. She weighed 8 pounds, 2 ounces and was 21 inches long.Mother

and daughter are doing well, the family reports.

New steakhouse to open in Newport

Sam & Harry’s, a Washington, D.C.-based steakhouse, is set to

expand to Newport Beach, it was announced Wednesday.

The restaurant is expected to open in December as the primary

eatery at the Newport Beach Hotel & Spa when a major renovation

project at the hotel wraps up.

In a release, hotel general manager Bill Gunderson said Sam &

Harry’s will feature USDA prime steaks and that fresh seafood will

arrive daily.

The hotel, located in Newport Center, is in the final months of a

$65-million renovation project.
