SAILING CLASSES

Two basic cruising classes are being offered by Orange Coast

College’s School of Sailing and Seamanship. This course is for people

seeking basic keelboat certification. One class meets from 9 a.m. to

4 p.m. Saturdays, Oct. 29 through Nov. 12 at the sailing center, 1801

West Coast Highway, Newport Beach; registration is $239. The other

class will meet from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sundays, Oct. 30 through Dec.

A northern Channel Islands cruise is offered by Orange Coast

College’s School of Sailing and Seamanship. The 300-mile cruise is

for sailors with intermediate or better sailing skills. The cruise

leaves Oct. 5 and returns Oct. 9 at the sailing center, 1801 West

Coast Highway, Newport Beach. Registration is $725. Information:

An outboard maintenance workshop is offered by Orange Coast

College’s School of Sailing and Seamanship. The three-hour workshop

is scheduled for 1 to 4 p.m. Oct. 8 at the sailing center, 1801 West

Coast Highway, Newport Beach. Registration is $35 per person, $65 for
