Crazy Eights 5, Black Widows 0: The Crazy Eights started strong
with Mackenzie Gaddis scoring early in the first quarter on a
breakaway. Analysa Vivanco scored twice for the Crazy Eights in the
first half. Reo Nathan also scored for the Eights with strong support
from Julia Frei. Jenna Jarvis scored in the last quarter on another
breakaway. Jessica Ochoa provided a strong defense. Kellie Melendres
made a save at goal. Alex Vasquez played tough in the midfield
keeping the pressure on the Black Widows assisted by Rachel
Whitelegge and Brooke Meer.
Dominators 3, Spongebobs 2: Olivia Sever scored the first goal on
a perfect cross from Kassidy Bryn Crowell followed, scoring with a
rocket shot from the midfield in the Dominators game against the
Spongebobs on Saturday.
Savannah Fausto punched in the third goal, recovering her own
carom. Haily Desprez and Xena Zwirner held the line in goal while
Danielle Cipolla, Mackenzie Hyde, Gabrielle Shelly, McKenzie Stephens
and Kira Wandrocke played magnificently both offensively and
defensively.
The Spongebobs played a great game with a lot of hustle. Haley
Cleveland and Sophia Jeffries scored the team’s goals. Laura Mariano,
Reagan Rutter and Taylor Long played well in midfield, creating
numerous plays on offense and breaking up several plays on defense.
The defense was led by Hailey Smith and Daniella Carrese. Natalie
Molstad and Abbey Pickett contributed on both sides of the ball while
Savanna Baron and Amanda Sheppard played tough in the net.
Boys under 10
Tigers 3, Quiksilver1: Max Gamboa, scored all three goals with
assists from Jehu Jogwe and Parker Young . Helping with offense was
Cole Chambers and John Redoutey. TJ Tarazevits, Sawyer Farmer and
Austin Lemoine led the defensive line. Duke Walker and Luke Mueller
were unbreakable as goalkeepers. The Tigers team effort and
determination led them to victory.
Boys under 8
Red Reptiles, Geckos: The Red Reptiles played the Geckos in a
close, hard fought game. The Reptiles were led by the scoring of Ryan
Balkey and Baer Lanfried with assists from Cody Wildman and Alan
Lee.The defense played strong, led by Joseph Ferraro and Trevor
Dennis playing goalkeeper.
Blue Crew, Blue Dragons: The Blue Crewplayed great team defense
led by Morgan Lunsford,Philip Bradbourne and Dante Amodeo. Jeremiah
Sheldon score five goals in the game. Matt Lightner and Andrew
English also scored for the Crew. Jack Rapillo played strong on both
sides of the ball, breaking up numerous plays on defense and creating
numerous chances on offense. Alex Lobel hustled with many defensive
stops.
Girls under 7
Blue Angels, Pink Tulips: The Blue Angels played a strong
defensive game Saturday at Mariners field. Paula Pedrani was a solid
in defense, blocking all but one charge by the Tulips. Laura
Mackenzie scored, and controlled the offense with support from Siena
Amoroso, Rayna Richardson, and Destry Comp. Riley De Castroverde,
Lauren Henke, Jenna Eakin, and Carol Noeggerath all played hard, and
advanced the ball forward for the Blue Angels.
Red Volcanoes, Surfer Girls: Starting goalkeeper Amanda Tapfner
made exceptional saves and was backed up on defense by Katie Hendrix
and Malia Putnam. Second half goalkeeper Callie Spooner showed off
her newly acquired skills, and received defensive support from Lily
Williams and Elise Rimland. Forward Jackie Singer scored the only
goal, and displayed great offensive and defensive play. Marissa
Cislaw, Emily Root, and Amanda Walker contributed on offensive
strikes throughout the entire contest.
Sassy Green Dolphins, Lady Bugs: Karly Pearson scored her first
season goal as the Dolphins played a stellar game against the Lady
Bugs. Abby Sauerborn, Allison Hanscom, Madeline Phillips and Annie
O’Connor displayed excellent goalkeeping skills while blocking
numerous shots. Powerful offense came from the entire team, including
shots by Olivia Dykes and Paige Okey.
Fairytale Girls, Purple Hearts: Camille Baron showed great
defensive skill with several steals and long kicks across the field
in the Fairytale Girls’ game against the Purple Hearts. Baron, Hannah
Darrow, Kayla Brockman, Breanna Contreras, Eva Nadeau, Jordan Golden,
and Rochelle Trujillo showed great teamwork throughout the entire
contest, kicking several goals and blocking the opponents score.
Boys under 6
Green Bulldogs, Stingrays: Green Bulldog forward Ian McKasson
scored his first goal of the season in a tough battle against the
Stingrays Saturday. Joe Skinner had an amazing game scoring several
goals. Jack played stellar defense along with great support from
Billy Shannon, Ben Zehnder, Sam Lohr and Cameron Hanson.
Goblins: On Saturday, the Goblins turned in a strong overall
performance. Playing against a tough defense, Jake Thomas and Cole
McFetters each scored two goals. Seth Roberts added another score.
Tommy Handly, Josh Gehlke and Vince Rubino combined to score a goal
to lead the Goblins. Solid defense was played by all.
Star Warriors: The Star Warriors played a vastly improved game
over the first game. Goals were scored early and often with several
by AJ Stefano and one each from Jake Bashore, Lucas Mowery and Julian
Hernandez. Excellent defensive play was exhibited by Chris Gruber,
Jack Pitchess and John Rankin.
Boys under 5
Green Goblins, Red Rockets: The Green Goblins and Red Rockets had
a very evenly matched game. Lucas Baia and Bennet Ward scored many
goals with assists from Dane Boehringer and Dylan White.
