Jeffrey Crosson, a sophomore at Estancia High School, reached the
rank of Eagle Scout -- the highest rank in Scouting -- on Aug. 3.
Crosson is a member of Troop 711 in Costa Mesa.
In order to attain the rank of Eagle Scout, he was required to
plan and supervise a community service project. The project Crosson
carried out was the construction of softball dugouts at St. John the
Baptist Church and School, where he attended kindergarten through
eighth grade. While carrying out his project, he raised more than
$3,000 and supervised more than 250 hours of work.
In addition to Scouting, Crosson is an honor student, a varsity
swimmer, a water polo player, a member of the Key Club and surf team,
and a Newport Beach Lifeguard Cadet.

U.S. Navy Capt. Michael J. Yraceburn, son of Eileen Yraceburn of
Newport Beach, recently completed a 45-day special assignment as
deputy to the commander of Sealift Logistics Forces Pacific at Naval
Base Point Loma near San Diego.
During his assignment, Yraceburn was responsible for overseeing
the maintenance and repair of the 22 ships of the Combat Logistic
Fleet in the Pacific theater..
Yraceburn, a 1976 graduate of Corona Del Mar High School, joined
the Navy in June 1980. He is a 1980 graduate of U.S. Merchant Marines
Academy in King’s Point, N.Y.

Owners will honor Corona del Mar resident Gena Reed, chief executive
officer of Paragon Biomedical Inc. at a private reception Thursday in
honor of the organization’s 10th Annual Remarkable Women Awards.

Nancy Warzer-Brady of Newport Beach has been named director of
education and community programs for the Orange County Performing
Arts Center in Costa Mesa.
Warzer-Brady, who joined the center in 2004 as assistant director
of education and community programs, will be responsible for
developing, implementing and managing the center’s programs designed
to enhance knowledge of and appreciation for the performing arts. .
