Mindspeed Tech. names executive
Mindspeed Technologies Inc., a Newport Beach semiconductor
company, announced Friday that Jay Cormier was named a Mindspeed
senior vice president and a general manager of one of the firm’s
business units.
Cormier, who has 20 years of experience with Norwood, Mass.-based
Analog Devices Inc., has been assigned to report to Mindspeed chief
executive Raouf Halim.
Cormier studied electrical engineering at Worcester Polytechnic
Institute before earning his business degree from Northeastern
University.
Collectibles firm makes purchase
Collectors Universe Inc., a Newport Beach company, announced
Tuesday that the firm finished a deal to purchase Certified Coin
Exchange Inc. for $2.18 million.
Certified Coin Exchange is a Houston-based company that operates
an Internet marketplace for dealers in coins, currency and bullion.
Collectors Universe’s services include grading collectibles such
as sports cards and coins.
Certified Coin Exchange’s business operations are slated to be
reorganized into a new subsidiary of Collectors Universe called
Certified Assets Exchange.
Experian buys Indiana firm
Experian, a Costa Mesa credit bureau, announced recently that it
has acquired Indiana-based Baker Hill Corp.
Baker Hill develops software and provides other products and
services to the banking and financial services industries. Experian
did not release the deal’s terms.
Baker Hill will become part of Experian’s business information
solutions division and remain in Carmel, Ind., according to a
statement.
Experian said Baker Hill’s managers and employees will keep their
jobs.
