Highlights: Preston scored two touchdowns, one on offense, the

other on defense, as Laguna Beach opened its 2005 season with a 40-19

victory over Centennial of Compton at Guyer Field.

The senior caught a 12-yard touchdown pass from quarterback

Charlie Bowman in the third quarter. Later in the quarter, he

recovered a fumble in the end zone for another score.

Preston also had a few key blocks and was solid on special teams

and defense.

Coach’s thoughts: “He was playing with a bad hip flexor and hasn’t

practiced for a week,” Jimmy Nolan said. “This kid will need to step

up every week. He is the key ingredient to this offense’s success.”
