Newport Beach-based real estate developer Laing Luxury Homes has
appointed A.J. Jarvis of Dana Point as vice president of land
acquisition and development.
In his new position, Jarvis will oversee acquisition of land,
obtaining approvals from governing agencies and strategically
developing the building plans within the community.
Jarvis’ 17-year career in the building industry includes working
as vice president of land and planning at Taylor Woodrow Homes. He
was also responsible for construction management at Newcrest
Development Corp. for five years, and he was the director of
purchasing at the Manning Company until 1992.
Jarvis holds a bachelor’s degree in civil and architectural
engineering from the University of Colorado in Boulder and a master’s
degree in business administration from UC Irvine.

Navy Seaman Recruits Jason Y. Celi, son of Escolastico P. Celi and
stepson of Carolyn A. Villareal of Costa Mesa, and Hilary Pov, son of
Souert Say and Nil Pov of Costa Mesa, recently completed U.S. Navy
basic training at the Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Ill.
During the eight-week program, they completed a variety of
training, which included classroom study and practical instruction on
naval customs, first aid, firefighting, water safety and survival,
and shipboard and aircraft safety.
